There has to be on the basis that the duration of time the ball stays on the club face is relative to the force of strike. However with the putter the force is so small that compression and time the ball stays on the putter face is minimal and IMO would have a negligible effect on considerations of clubface orientation and for clubface path. The arc of the putter is not as curved as with other clubs, the distance in which the ball stays on the putter face is minimal.
