The above video was shot 7 days ago and Yesterday I decided to play my home course using the hitting stroke from putt to drive. I have NEVER Hit while playing. OK, maybe a chip or two but I'm so paranoid about integrating any hitting into my swing I have avoided it whenever possible.
The biggest shock for me is I was hitting par 4 approach shots from fairway locations much, much closer to the green than I ever have been, and I've never had a distance problem. I mean half wedge shots to the stick.

I'm still in shock.
Second epiphany:
I found myself lining up my drives as accurately as I line up my putts. The thought process is usually "which side of the fairway do I want to be on", and instead it became, "what specific line do I want to take and how will the ball react when it lands there". The ball was on a guide wire and it went directly down the line I planned.
Really amazing stuff.
These are the early impressions of hitting and I know I have to refine it and get more comfortable using it. But I thought I would share first hand the impressions from a swingers perspective. I realize there a many swingers that might have tried hitting and it doesn't work for them. I probably have a natural affinity for it. Homer said, "If you are strong Hit, if quick Swing". I'm a bit of both and prefer the freedom of swinging, but I have to say, TGM gives you options and if you can execute more than a few, it gives you a lot more tools in your bag.
