Using the hands to control the pivot doesn't mean they physically move the body, just that it's the hands not the pivot being monitored which gives you more acurate feedback as to whether your pivoting correctly.

Yes, You've got it.
That's a major hurdle for most golfers new to TGM.
Now...study section 2-N-1 and key in on the phrase "Hip Slide" for the correct pivot motion at the "Beginning" of the downstroke....then go to section 2-0 and try to grasp the concept of the Three Basic Essentials and Three Basic Imperatives while at the same time study the picture in section 1-L of the "Machine" and observe where the plane line is....then read the 21 facts in 1-L again. In fact, I would study the 21 facts until you have a working knowledge of them...this will put one on the road to precision golf...it's worth the study.
