The Start Down is a
Hip Action, not a
Knee Motion. Substituting the latter for the former led to the
Leg Drive Abyss of the '70s and '80s.
The function of the Legs -- the Knees and Feet -- is to keep the
Head Stationary while operating through the Hips to Pull the Right Shoulder down On Plane.
Anything else is an aberration and should be avoided by thinking players.
