Grips for hitters

I hesitate to start a new thread, but I couldn't find any reference to size of golf grips for hitters.
Having been a swinger, I think, for the past 40 or 50 years of playing clueless golf, I have done the 180 and become a hitter. It feels great and so far everything is peaches.
However, now my standard sized grips seem kind of small. I have put on new grips on my wedges, but added a wrap under the length of the grip and added another couple short wraps under pp#3. This feels remarkably good. Will this improve feel, as it seems to, or am I fooling myself?

Hi Jerry,

I've always enjoyed the feel of building up the grip under the right hand 1 extra wrap. I hadn't thought of the fact it was behind #3. Sort of a virtual PBS!

Like we used to tell our girl friends, "If it feels good, how can it be wrong!?!?!?"
