I believe the proper terminology, which Daryl would insist upon im sure, is "crowning" and can be measured in "centimeters dilated". Ranging from zero to approx 5 cm, or so called "fully dilated".
The other consideration is volume and shear numbers. And so you "
must prepare" accordingly. In this regard Mike is known in some arenas as "Octoman".
