I guess how strong or weak your grip isn't really the reason for the worn thumb then. This was happening with a very strong grip, could see 3 knuckles. For the wear to happen you would think there must be some movement of the thumb on the shaft to create friction. I don't see how else it would happen. In my case, in the past i must've had a lot of movement to wear out my gloves so fast.
