Right Wrist ROLL when? and destroying Paddlewheel?
Hit Doctor,
When do you allow your Right Wrist to ROLL? I have struggled with maintaining Right Arm Paddlewheel motion which is no good because I have a Turned Left Hand.
Ball Flight Symptoms: Low and Left.
I noticed in the Gallery in the Champions at Impact that these great players seemed to have the inside of their right forearm facing the sky longer through the ball than I do i.e. less or later Right Wrist Roll.
When do you allow the Right Wrist to Roll?
In maintaining the under hand pitch motion of Paddlewheel motion, I had a few thoughts.
1. Have the inside of the right forearm face the sky longer through the ball
2. Make sure the heel beats the toe to the ball
3. Have the fingernails of the middle fingers of the right hand face the sky more through the ball still keeping the Right Wrist Bent.
Could you lift a little fog on Right Arm Paddlewheel please Doc?
As an image, never think of your right wrist as rolling - only driving the heel of your right hand DOWNplane. Leave the 'feel' of the roll to the left forearm - until after the ball is gone, after both arms straight. If you are using angled hinge, you shouldn't really feel the 'roll' however - just the thrust.
If you 'thrust' the heel of the right hand and 'roll' the left, you will feel what 'swivel' is. See my posts in the drills section for some additional images that will help you get the proper feels - keeping the right wrist back, and the left arm roll - through to both arms straight.
