I am working on hitting right now an wonder if it is ok to use a weak single action instead of the strong.I have been using the weak(standrd) for years and just dont feel to comfortable with the thumb on the side, although I may just be picturing it wrong.
Swinging Frank,
You can use whatever grip your hearts desire (Basic and/or Type)....HOWEVER.... Weak single action is more compatible with Standard Wrist Action where the Left Wrist is turned and cocked on Plane in the Backstroke and thus uncocked and rollled during Release which spells a sequenced release and if not manipulated produces a Dual Horizontal Himge action... most of these components compliment a swing procedure....But compensations that are made during the execution can cause incremental loss of distance.
Just a suggestion:
3rd Edition 10-2- B Strong Single Action - Pull the Right Hand Back from the top Pressure Point postion of Grip Type A(Weak Sinlgle Action) in order to conform to a LOWERED LEFT THUMB POSITION. This allows the pressure point to DROP to an AFT position. DO NOT ROTATE THE RIGHT HAND to achieve this change. The pressure point is no longer on the plane of the left wristcock. The pressure point will now be on the line of the Inclined Plane during Impact.
