About 70% of the time, it's just playing around with the sand wedge to get the trajectory and spin I want for a shot. Lob wedge for shots that need to carry a bunker or rough and stop quickly.
Gap wedge for shots from the fairway from about 30-40 yards where there's nothing in front of the green and the pin is back. I can hit a lower shot that take one hop then releases.
My Gap Wedge is 52* and max is 100-105 yds, SW is 56* and max is 85-90 yds, Lob is 60* and max is 70-75 yds. Chipping is anything that looks good, but the the Gap gets called up most of the time. Sand shots are mostly Lob, but longer shots get longer clubs. I have been practicing more with the Lob around the greens per Stan Utley. Short game has improved with the help of the flying wedges. After over 30 years, sometimes if feels ALMOST easy!
