The cocking left wrist
Bigwill,
Just remember that the wrist can only cock approximately 20 degrees. So if you start with a zero number 3 accumulator you'll only get to 20 degrees. If you start with 70 degrees of #3 accumulator then you can get to 90 degrees.

Thanks for the responses.

Try this.
Put both hands in front of you as if you were addressing a ball but with no club.
With palms together ,cock the left wrist.
Make your backswing to the top .Notice how the turning of the right arm enables the right wrist to remain bent and level-and it now matches the cocked left wrist.

My last post was somewhat oversimplified.
Start in adress position with no club .With your left thumb in the lifeline of the right hand ,bend your right wrist. Is your left wrist cocked?.It may not be 90'but it will be as cocked as you can get it.
Now take it to the top without any further movement of the hands.

I agree with Neil , I think.
The left wrist bends in concert with the right elbow. For the right wrist not to cock as this occurs then i think that the right forearm has to rotate ( supinate) in a counter-clockwise direction ( from your personal viewing position)
This seems to allow the left wrist to cock, roght elbow to bend and keep the right wrist level but bent.
The timing of this right forearm rotation can vary but it is needed at some stage. When performed early in the swing it is essentially the movement Dante recommends in his book , and is one of the moves in Manzella Twistaway.

Going off half cocked, again.
Swingers do not have to go to the End. By going there they use Top Arc and Straight Line Delivery Path, which helps set up Longitudinal Acceleration. But, the Swinger can go to Top only like a Hitter. As the Swinger goes past Top, they risk cocking their Right Wrist.

It all finally makes sense, the right elbow makes it look as though the left wrist has cocked 90 or more degrees.
Thanks Lagster and Mike O, this helps immensely!

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)
