I just can't create any lag- can someone please help me? I am about ready to quit.

Sounds like you could be trying to "make" the clubhead move forward and/or down, rather than focusing on "longitudanal acceleration" and allowing the club to throw out and switch ends of its own accord.

Lay a club on a table top with only the grip extending over the edge. Grip the club and assume a posture as you would be in your downswing at the point where the club is parallel to the ground (actually, the club is parallel to the ground because it's on a table top). Now, drag the club toward the target with your pivot only. That is the feel of longitudanal acceleration, which is nothing more than dragging the club lengthwise.

Drag the clubshaft and let the clubhead take care of itself.
