I don't have a high opinion of Leadbetter but have you got any idea of "His" logic behind wanting to reduce the amount of accumulator lag in Howell's swing. when you say "lean". Do you mean forward lean of the shaft at impact? What is Leadbetter trying to achieve by reducing that. At the Open at St George's I got a job as a spotter. I was standing in the fenced off area between the spectator stand and the players on the practice ground(Press only area) . Howell was spraying his driver all over the place while being taught by Leadbetter he was getting really angry. There was another spotter a few yards from me directly behind him an Irish guy called Eanna . Howell stopped hitting balls walked to the fence and semi shouted at him "Have you got a problem , have you got a problem" I guess he was looking for an excuse for his poor performance. It crossed my mind to say " He has not got a problem mate but you have . That useless coach ." I kept my mouth shut but have wondered what the outcome would have been if I had said that.
