Over the Top

I am very new to the TGM and find the analytics amazing. My new pro is a certified instructor and we have been working on fixing some major flaws in my game (handicap 12).

After the last few weeks I finally know what I am doing wrong by analyzing slow motion video (using the Casio Ex F1) and backswing looks good (on plane, wrist position good) but the downswing starts with no rotation and a hands and arms movement causing me to come over the top and have a slight fade. My old swing had a strong grip so that corrected the faulty downswing path.

What I would like to inquire is what drills are there to do to correct the following and if they could be home based even better as getting to the range during the week is difficult:

a) Start with pivoting down, not hands
b) Promote a in to out swing path.

I bought the inside approach training aid and the Martin Hall Smart Stick but nothing seems to be working.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Startdown Waggles!!!!!!!!!!! Hit the search function.

They are the best. I do two for every pull on the range, do them quickly and then without thinking hit a shot.......There's nothing better than a drill that pays immediate dividends.

Some guys even have a mini version incorporated into their pre shot routine. Some really good players.

shut face drill . . . . .

Set up with the shaft fairly vertical to the ground with the face looking WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY left . . . . will teach you to lean the handle rather than back it up. Plus you have to swing out on it . . . . if you keep swinging too far "over" ball is gonna start left of left . . . so you have to get the handle forward to get the face open enough to start the ball on a reasonable line.

Also . . . get on of them diet coke long 12 pack boxes. . . . put some balls in it to weight it down. Put it out side your ball. The put some balls underneath the back side of it so you have to feel like you are swinging "under the roof". Come over and you crash the box.

So from down the line it looks like .\
