Draw shot caused trouble

Procedure: Swinging with lagging clubhead takeaway with the feeling of sharp hip turn bring the club to the top.

Downswing thought: Hip slide bringing the handle to the ball, kind of right forearm tracing the straight plane line.

Result: Most of the time hitting nice Draw with incredible distance for a short 5’6’ golfer HK golfer, 7-iron can reach 170yards with my MP-32 stiff black gold shaft and Driver averaging 270yards.)

But I faced with a big problem when trees are on the right hand side just next to tee box….ball went there and….I won’t like to know how to hit a straighter shot???

Sounds like you 'may' be tracing a curved line, more of an arc, using a plane that is fairly flat.

As a drill, for a curved plane line, try a hitting pattern with a straight baseline. Right now due to the flatter plane, your hands are potentially moving too 'around'. Use a right forearm pickup, and a level right wrist. Imagine a line that is drawn from where your hands are at the 'top' of your motion, to a spot on the ground in front of the ball.

One of the better drills for this is to make practice swings with your back to a wall. It forces you to feel a more upright plane - just be sure to keep your flying wedges in place.

Watch Byron Nelson's motion to get a good example of a pattern to visualize that should help you narrow your range of ball motion from right to left.

If your happy with your ballflight, why not just make the relevant adjustments to hit a fade when you need to?

Grip issue

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to hit some fade as per Yoda video with Collin....:salut:

One of the issue is that when i take my grip at impact fix, back of left hand match the clubface, seems perfect...but after the shot, the clubface "closed" in my hand...might it be the grip size problem?

EdZ,

Yes, my swing plane is pretty flat...kind of elbow plane...I used to use RFT and #1 power Accumulator to drive, I hit little bit shorter.

I enjoy swinging procedure, will try your drill at range.

Thanks alot.

draw with driver

Hi all again,I have been working very hard on the hitters swing and it is working well, being on the back nine of life,I have found it so much easier being a hitter than swinger, due to less shoulder turn etc,I was today setting up my driver ala Ted Forte, ball way out in front so to speak, hitting the driver probably longer and straighter than I ever have before and with much more confidence,my QUESTION for today is ,how do I set-up my tee shot with driver to get a draw happening,ie c/face., ball position , alighnments etc, assistance would be very much appreciated,Thanks in advance

Tong gave me a pretty good advice .

Move the whole assembly and plane line a little left( thus ball a little to the front), Open the club face until I hit a straight-fade .
