Axis Tilts - Pics

Question isn't "To tilt" it is .... When to tilt and How much to tilt?

Clue: Depends on your Delivery Path,Plane Angle and it's Variations!!!

Could bend at the hips and knee bend effect it too? Seems like the golfing postures are different here as well.

I noticed that as well, 12piece.

Ben... I believe is Straight Line Delivery Path, and Double Shift. He also APPEARS to have quite a bit of lateral head motion on the backswing. What about the other guys?

For some reason your picture doesn't show, only a white box with a red x in it...

Any ideas..

I'll take a stab . . .

More circular paths require less tilt? Since the pulley is larger? Steeper plane angles require more tilt as well?

Sorry for my mis-identified gender issues. I got mistaken for the missing link once. And I ain't so pretty.

Interersting!!! Is Mr. Doyle on a Turned Shoulder Plane? Hogan, I believe, was a Double Shift(return to the Elbow Plane). What about the others?

Aha!

I believe Ernie Els uses zero shift and does not tilt.

Would there be a difference in these frames and impact?

Yes, for the ones to the right of Ben Doyle...why? because the Axis Tilt needs to be established for the intended Delivery Path, Plane Angle and any shift that may take place....Why do players have plane shifts versus a "zero shift" ...Here's my uneducated answer....Zero shift for a "Straight Away...Maximun Compression...Minimal Deflection"....Plane Shifts for different Trajectories and Curvatures which involve different lines of compression ...plane lines that might be shifted right or left of the Target Line...(Remmber Swingers can work the ball by rotating their plane line for curvature which is different than "Bending the Plane Line")

:-$ :-$

Is "when to tilt and how much to tilt?" synonymous with "when and how much downstroke hip slide is needed?"

Hmm . . . Wonder what he means???? Bending plane lines? What's next bag snatching from the kiddies at Halloween?

Makes sense man....good post.

Swinger shifts plane line to the right (closed body lines- stance, etc.) for a draw (well, generally).....shifted to the left for a fade (generally)....

....I say generally because it depends on your grip, ball position....prolly some other things.
