Ask And Ye Shall Receive
 

Ted's 15-minute lecture focused on putting mechanics and tactics. The focus was on how to read a certain putt -- a tough left-to-right breaker that was much closer to 15 feet than the 9 feet Ted mentioned in his prior post. The lecture completed, everybody begin to break away. For me though, the much-discussed putt begged for resolution. My exact words stopped the departing crowd in their tracks:

"I'd like to see him make that putt."

The gallery gathered; the chatter ceased; and the green became as quiet as the 18th on a Masters Sunday.

And then Ted calmly rolled it in.

Priceless.

Yup, brian has given me this "lesson" before but i have been instinctly doing it all my putting life.

Basically, it is what Phil M does when he does the "circle drill." He is finding the perfect straight putt around the "circle." Then he finds the break.

Once you know both, you know how much up/down hill and how much left/right the break will be all around the "circle."
