Summary
Headcount
In the end we were only three. (Don't laugh!). I actually did not expect that we'd be able to gather more than 5, so the showup was ok. The advantage was a lot of airtime for each of us. As individuals we wouldn't probably have gained more TGM knowledge from the experience should we have a bigger group. But it would have been good to see more people there & forming a bigger network. Three is not really (yet) a network, but its more than one.

Marketing was very limited. Just this post plus a late post at Chucks forum. No linking from Swedish forums. The TEST was neccessary but may have caused some to opt out.

In retrospect I am happy we were not 10. Would have required a lot more planning and management.

Outcome

We had a great time. To me the highlights of the day were:
  • Discussion. As always it was interesting to hear the different experiences we had when approaching the book. We discussed the three imperatives, many other issues and sort of established "common ground" for the rest of the day.
  • Training aid session. We had a go at mainly impact bags, plane lasers and a dual track. Summing it up I'd say the plane laser session was the most conclusive. Probably since it was the experience most obviously connecting back to the "straight plane line" imperative.
  • Shortgame session. Could see some big aha experinces as we went through the "zero-out-PP3" chipping technique. Not only that. Was it rolj's first or second TGM chip that holed out? =D> \/
  • Video analysis. What we did was to record all swings DTL and FO. Then move in to the conference room & fire up the projector, V1 analyzer and get the vids loaded. None of us were skilled video analyzers, but we did not need to be. All of us had fundamental flaws that were easy to pick. We analyzed each swing in a group session & eventually reached consensus regarding the 2 main defects in each swing. Guess we spent 20 minutes on each swing. Then we headed back to the driving range to supervise eachother as the changes were imposed. I'd say it was very conclusive for all of us. Not the least since we had a couple of pro swings to compare to. I think we did a reasonably good job finding the flaws, but AI support would have been (understatement) handy as we headed back to the range to eliminate the flaws & improve on non-optimal swings. One thing is for sure: We did a much better job being six eyes, than we would have done individually trying to analyze our own swings.

Towards end of day I talket to Henning who was in town. He'd just finished a presentation with a group of Swedish pros. Me, h.kan & henning had a brief sidewalk meeting in Stockholm & talked over our experiences as well as hennings. I got the 3 additional yellow books I ordered. One to be donated to the club (as a thank you), one extra for me and one "just in case".

Future
I just know that all of us will be busy tweaking with our swings for quite some time. We will also be busy reading more TGM and learning more through this forum. Time will tell what the next move will be. Either another MOM, an AI session, a trip to the US or...

Time will tell
