FLW at top of backswing
I have been working on Basic Motion almost exclusively the past month. However, I have to go out to the course occasionally to get my fix, which means I have to use Total Motion without having worked up to it through Acquired Motion. Yesterday, I found that at the top of my backswing, I was cupping my left hand. This was causing all kinds of problems, particularly impeding my ability to get back to impact with a FLW. As a remedy on the course, I began to focus on my #2 pressure point, the last three fingers of my left hand. I find that when my left hand is cupped, the last three fingers are on the side of the club. So I consciously tried to feel that they were underneath the club at the top, essentially between the club and the ground. That seemed to flatten my left wrist at the top and made getting a FLW back to impact easier.

Question: Is it correct to focus on PP#2 at the top of the backswing to ensure a FLW? I have been reading a lot on monitoring PP#3, but not #2, and I just want to make sure that I am not doing this incorrectly. Thanks for your guidance.

If your three fingers are under the shaft, your wrist is arched. All PP, except number four, are on the back side of the shaft.

Now Look Look Look.

Start with a Strong Single Action grip, 10-2-B. Practice address positions, 8-1, 8-2, 8-3. Examine Impact Fix- the Wedges should look the same at the top. If you use Adjusted Address then the bent Left and flat right wrists need to reverse positions. Let the right wrist go from flat to bent and the Left will follow flat. Use Extensor Action to straighten the Left Wrist on start up.

or- start with a Hitters Impact Fix Address with a Flat left and a Bent right.

Practice Start Up waggles OVER the ball position. 3-F-5.
