Opened Clubface

I have my irons bent down(flat)3 degrees from an already flat standard.I understand with horizontal hinge you want to open the clubface at address.
My question, are my irons already open because they are bent that way? Also,do I need to really shut the face down to play a angled hinged shot?

Please help.
